The Ogun State Government says it will no longer tolerate arbitrary parking of trailers and other articulated vehicles at Ogere, along the Lagos-Ibadan and Sagamu-Benin expressways. Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa gave the warning today in Abeokuta at a meeting with stakeholders operating in the area. The State scribe who frowned at the ugly development regretted that the menace had constituted dangers to safety and health of residents and road users, explaining that Government would soon begin to wield the big stick on anyone who failed to comply with the order. ‘’Government is not satisfied and rejects these illegal and irresponsible habits. A lot of lives have been lost in the process. We have held a lot of meetings with you in the past with a view to correcting the anomaly. Yet we have not seen any serious improvement. Take this as the final warning,by next week we’ll start active enforcement on that axis’’, the SSG said. He also cautioned residents and business owners along the express road to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse on the road median or face sanctions. He therefore urged them to continually educate theirpeople on the need to be safety and security conscious at all times.
