Abductors of Senator Iyabo Anisulowo have demanded a N200 million ransom for her release, Premium Times reports with reference to its security and family sources.
The unknown reportedly contacted the relatives on Friday, April 29, using the mobile phone number of Anisulowo, who also used to be Nigeria’s minister in the past.
The Ogun police commissioner, Abdulmajid Ali, and several other top officers are said to have relocated closer to the area of abduction, in Ilaro, for the rescue operation.
Ali’s spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi yesterday promised Anisulowo would return home safely:
“The command wishes to inform the general public that the police have some clues as the Toyota SUV of the victim, with Reg No Lagos LSD 115 AM, and some items have been recovered, and this will definitely catalyse the forensic investigation into the matter and immediate rescue of the victim.”
He added that several agencies were doing their best to rescue the victim as soon as possible and bring the perpetrators to justice.
