Oronna-Ilaro Festival celebrated with Pomp and Pageantry

The 2016 edition of Oronna-Ilaro Festival, which was celebrated with pomp and pageantry, was graced by distinguished personalities, sons and daughters of the land and well-wishers. Tagged “Festival of Celebration“, the national festival is indeed a uniting ground for all sons and daughters of Ilaro.

In his welcome address, the Chairman, Oronna-Ilaro Festival Central Planning Committee, Alhaji Rafiu Akinola,  urged all sons and daughters of the town to continue to fan the embers of unity and good brotherliness despite religious differences and political linings. He also accentuated the essence of the festival while urging sons and daughters in diaspora to hold their heads up and fly the prestigious flag of the heritage of Ilaro.

While addressing sons and daughters, well wishers and others present to make the historical event a memorable one, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, welcomed all guests and gave fatherly advice to sons and daughters of the town. He urged youths to think outside the box and make the town proud wherever they are. He sent a note of warning to politicians of Yewa extraction, and promised to go against any politician working against the mush neglected region. He showed his readiness to ‘destroy’ any Ogun West politician who is planning to be a Judas.

The National Festival, chaired by Alhaji Mufutau Isa(a.k.a Mufu Ijebu), was graced by Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, Senator  Solomon Adeola Olamilekan(YAYI), Gboyega Nasir Isiaka(GNI), Barrister Biyi Otegbeye(BOT), Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa and other distinguished personalities.
