Ilaro Youth Council Inaugurates new executives

A community that values its youth is surely destined for greatness. The youth, apart from making up a larger percentage of the population, have the requisite energy, zeal and future foresight to bring about greatness. When young people come together as one, the greatest mistake the society can make is underestimating their ability, for indeed, they can do and undo. The imperatives for a youth organization was once again made obvious with the inauguration of new executives by Ilaro Youth Council.

The new executives, presided over by Esv. Olakanmi Idowu, has been placed with the responsibility of initiating a ‘workable’ plan for the council.
In his presidential speech, the new president promised an open door policy. He sees his new position as a call to serve while advocating for a council based on law and order. “I believe our activities must be guided by law, for where there is law, there is a sin,” he said. He also placed emphasis on the need for member to pay monthly dues, for no organization can work without finance.

The inauguration, which took place today, 5th March, at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion, Empire Field, Ilaro, was graced by Chief (Mrs) Oloyo, the Iya-Ewe of Ilaro-Yewa. In her speech, she preached love and urged the new executives to consolidate on the achievements of the outgoing executives. She also commented on the online membership strength of the council which does not has any effect offline. While concluding, she preached against discrimination of any kind among members.
